‘Framji Sidhwa’ was the man who constructed Regal Cinema depicted in the photo above. Located in the Colaba Area in South Mumbai, this cinema hall was the first in India to possess air condition according to the ‘Limca Book Of Records’. Furthermore, this movie hall first became functional in 1933, with the exhibition of ‘Laurel And Hardy’ feature film titled ‘The Devil’s Brother’. In addition, since 2015 this hall is one of the leading venues of the ‘Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) Film Festival’.
